Security Pacific Real Estate was founded in 1969 by two visionary East Bay businessmen, Richard Clancy and Ray DeGenarro. They created an innovative, dynamic environment where Realtors could build life-long careers by offering a professional, supportive environment based on service and integrity. Still under our original ownership, Security Pacific thrives today as the East Bay’s leading independent brokerage, having helped over fifty five thousand East Bay homeowners realize their real estate dreams.

Mike was born in Southern California and moved to San Jose when he was seven. At age twelve, his father, Richard Clancy, moved the family to Danville when he accepted a position with Silver Construction to help develop and sell most of the homes in Pinole Valley. At age thirteen, Mike started working in the new subdivisions doing landscaping and general labor. He can drive through much of that area today and still see his handiwork.

The rest of Mikes teen years were spent pursuing his passion for racing motorcycles which remains to this day. At twenty-two Mike got his real estate license and started working for the firm his father co-founded, Security Pacific.

In 1982 Mike started into management training at Security Pacific while also obtaining his Certified Commercial Investment Member designation. He focused on investment real estate until 1994 when Mike joined the Security Pacific management team full time. In 2001, Mike was named President of Security Pacific and remains at its helm today.

Mike lives in Walnut Creek with his wife of 28 years, Ilene. Their son Daniel is 24 and daughter Eryn is 17. Mike still enjoys motorcycles, quite often riding with his father and his son as well as golf and flying.
